On Friday 19 June 2020 the federal Government of Nigeria announced that it is set to disengage the npower volunteer on June 30,
The 500,000 graduates who where benefiting from the npower scheme with 30,000 monthly salary.
the announcement came from the Humanitarian ministry deputy director of information Rhoda Iliya, and the exit of the volunteer, will commence on 30 June and July 31 2020 respectively for batch (A) and batch (B) with the exit of the volunteer comes a fresh and new volunteer program that will start on the 26 of of June.
The Npower scheme started on 2016 with an announcement from the president of the federal republic of Nigeria and inaugurated by president buhari with thousand of beneficiaries across key sector:
The scheme which commences with first batch (A) 200,000 Nigeria youth in 2016 and the second batch started as of 2018 with 300,000 young Nigeria who are suppose to exit the scheme in July 2020, with thousand of beneficiaries the scheme was said to successful until this day.
The Npower scheme was said to last up to 24 month for each of the participant but batch (A) was said to be privilege, because it lasted up to 48 month while batch (B) lasted for 24 month, with the new recruitment at hand, the two previous scheme was said not to be eligible for the ongoing employment.
